Divorce under the Legal Services Act

A legal consumer questionnaire, released in anticipation of Alternative Business Structures introduced by the Legal Services Act which takes effect on 6 October 2011, shows a serious interest by the public in legal services from companies not ever connected with that market.

However, the questionnaire demonstrated that managed divorce services by non-legal brands would be avoided because ‘the public seems intent on visiting a traditional firm for this most personal of services’. 83% of respondents choose a solicitors practice to manage their divorce case.

Divorce and family law is a very difficult and oftern complicated area of law. This is why clients would prefer to see a family lawyer over a non-legal organisation.
